The Colusa County Law Library is housed at the main branch in Colusa, but is a stand alone Library supported by the County of Colusa. County Law Libraries are public libraries providing access to legal materials to all who are interested. The mission of the Colusa County Law Library is to provide free access to legal materials to all persons interested in the law.

A computer workstation, loaded with Microsoft Office, provides access to legal databases and Legal Bluebook. Recent editions of the Nolo series, county code and local law materials supplement online legal research.

With the ongoing global pandemic, our primary legal database, Westlaw, has generously provided remote access to library patrons. Patrons can self-register for 20 hours of free Westlaw access over 14 days. There are two ways to register:

Option 1: On-demand at https://legal.thomsonreuters.com/en/c/remote-patron-access

Option 2: By phone—call 1-800-328-4880, enter extension 855597, and a Customer Service agent will create a user name and password. This line is open from 5am-5pm PT.
