Immunizations for Healthcare Workers

Healthcare Worker Immunizations

Healthcare workers are at risk for exposure to serious, and sometimes deadly, diseases. Healthcare workers include physicians, nurses, emergency medical personnel, dental professionals and students, medical and nursing students, laboratory technicians, pharmacists, hospital volunteers, and administrative staff. If you work directly with patients or handle material that could spread infection, you should get the appropriate immunizations to protect yourself and prevent the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases.

Recommended Immunizations

Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) webpage on recommended immunizations for healthcare workers, to learn more about the benefits and potential risks associated with these vaccines: Recommended Vaccines for Healthcare Workers

The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) also recommends that everyone ages 5 and older receives a COVID-19 vaccine. COVID-19 vaccines may be administered on the same day as other immunizations. To find a COVID-19 vaccine near you, please visit Colusa County Public Health’s Vaccine Clinic webpage, or Vaccines.gov
