Reporting Concerns
Issues to Report
Call the Colusa County Sheriff's non-emergency dispatch number, (530) 458-0200, to report:
  • Animal cruelty or neglect
  • Dog or cat bites
  • Human exposure / encounters with potentially rabid animals
  • Loose dogs
  • Sick or injured domestic animals or wildlife

Response
County Animal Control officers will respond to the following domestic animal encounters / emergencies:
  • Possible rabid animals in a home or business that pose a threat to humans or pets
  • Wild animal exposures between humans or domestic animals that could result in rabies exposures

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Trapper 
Colusa County will request for the USDA trapper to respond to the following:
  • Calls reporting wildlife nuisance problems, such as: 
    • Beavers creating dams on public waterways
    • Coyotes preying on livestock
    • Feral pigs damaging agricultural land
    • Mountain lions preying on livestock
  • Wildlife appearing sick or injured or showing signs and symptoms of rabies
  • Wildlife posing a threat to humans or pets, including wild animals living:
    • In attics, basements, garages, and sheds
    • In populated areas
    • Under decks, storage sheds, and porches
