 Tax Dates Importance 
 January 1st Lien Date
 February 1st Second installment of secured property tax is due.
 April 10th Final day to pay second installment of secured property tax. A 10% penalty and an additional $20 charge are added to the bill if it is not postmarked or received by 5:00 pm.
 June 30th End of the fiscal year.
 July 1st Delinquent secured property tax accounts are transferred to delinquent rolls. Additional monthly penalties accrue at 1.5% per month on any unpaid prior year balance. A $15 redemption fee is also added.
 August 1st Unsecured property tax due.
 August 31st Final day to pay unsecured property tax. A 10% penalty is added to total due if not postmarked or received by 5:00 pm.  Additionally, interest begins to accrue at 1.5% per month and additional fees are added to cover the cost of the lien process.
 November 1st First installment of secured property tax due. 
 December 10th Final day to pay first installment of secured property tax. A 10% penalty is added if not postmarked or received by 5:00 pm. 
Note: If the final due date falls on a weekend or holiday, the taxes may be paid without penalty until 5:00 pm on the next business day.

Secured property taxes are secured by the real property for which they are assessed. In addition to the standard annual property tax billing, there are several other types of secured taxes that may be billed throughout the year including: supplemental, corrected, additional and escaped tax.

Supplemental property taxes are issued when there is an increase in taxable value caused by a change in ownership or construction. More than one year may be affected by the increase in value, causing more than one supplemental bill to be issued. Even if a property has been sold, the original owner may be billed for any change in value relating to the dates of their ownership.

Unsecured property taxes are assessed to personal property and receive an unsecured tax bill. Personal property taxes are the responsibility of the person or entity that owned the property January 1st proceeding the tax year. There are several types of unsecured property including: business property, vessels, aircraft, possessory interest, delinquent mobile homes and certain supplemental taxes if billed after a change in ownership.

Please note: Failure to receive a tax bill in no way relieves the property owner of the responsibility of paying proper tax liens when they become due and payable.
