The Colusa County Library offers many different opportunities for volunteering. Volunteers are welcome at all library branches. Please call (530) 458-0372 for more information on volunteering at your local library branch.

General Library
Volunteers are needed to help with general library tasks, such as:
  • shelving books
  • processing books
  • cleaning and tidying book areas
  • gardening

    Literacy Program

        The library's Literacy Program has many volunteer opportunities in each of its three components. Volunteer opportunities are listed:

    Adult Literacy
    • Volunteer adult tutor
    • office assistance (especially bilingual English-Spanish)
    • serve on the Literacy Council

    Mobile Library Literacy Service
    • general office assistance
    • assist with processing and auditing books
    • assist at yearly book give away events

    Children's Programming 

    Story Time
        Volunteers are needed for Story Time (Thursdays - 6:30 - 7:30) at the Colusa library branch. Volunteers are needed to read to children and to help with crafts.

    Annual Events
        The library hosts several annual events that would benefit from volunteer assistance, such as: Summer Reading Program, Día de los Niños/Children's Day, Family Fair, and Christmas Tyme in Colusa.
